The Source of Truth:
The Bible is God's inspired written Word (2 Timothy 3:16). It is true (John 17:17) and must be "rightly divided" (2 Timothy 2:15), or correctly interpreted. This is done by study and by reconciling context with the Bible as a whole (Isaiah 28:9-10) to understand the truth about God's identity and plan for humanity (1 Thessalonians 2:13).
The truth about the identity of God:
God is Spirit (John 4:24). God is one (Deuteronomy 6:4). God fills time and space (1 Timothy 1:17). God is Father over creation (Malachi 2:10). God was manifest in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, for the purpose of redemption (1 Timothy 3:16, John 1:14 and John 3:16). God is love (1 John 4:16), and He has a will for your life (2 Peter 3:9, 1 Timothy 2:3-4).
The truth about Salvation:
All have sinned (Romans 3:23). The result of sin is death, but God has given us the gift of eternal life - this is salvation (Romans 6:23). Salvation is offered only by the grace of God (Ephesians 2:5) and the sacrifice made on the cross (Romans 5:8). We are saved by this grace through our faith in God (Ephesians 2:8). Our faith is to be actively pursued by our obedience of God's Word, or works (James 2:20, John 14:15). The doctrine of salvation in the New Testament is founded upon the teachings of Jesus Christ and his apostles and prophets (Ephesians 2:20). Jesus taught we must be born again of water and Spirit (John 3:3-6), and continuously in the book of Acts the apostles preached that repentance, baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the washing away of sins, and infilling of the Holy Ghost was indeed the method to be born again as Christ taught (Acts 2:38).
